Perfume Trends 2012/2013: The winter smells like pepper!

The winter perfumes 2012/2013 make their carriers smell delicious! Women smell like vanilla and fruits, men smell like cinnamon and pepper.
In winter the scents of perfumes become heavier. This year they could even make you hungry! Cognac, rum and cocoa is used for example for men´s perfumes during autumn and winter, as well as cumin, cardamom, cinnamon and mandarin.
“The scents are figuratively eatable”, says Elmar Keldnich, Managing Director of the Federation Perfumeries in Dusseldorf, Germany. The perfumes for women become rosy, soft and fruity, but also mixed with vanilla, a revived classic. “Vanilla is included in almost all new female autumn and winter fragrances”, says Keldenich.

Scents go directly to the brain

Scents go directly into the brain. A very special one is going there and will never get out: the smell of babies.

Every affection has a good reason. A mother is happy and has that certain glow in the face. She has her daughter lying on her stomach and is smelling the head, the hair, the ear and the neck...

How
does it smell?

Like a baby
, she says, laughing. It smells softly and not yet as a human being.

There is no other comparative smell, it is the only smell that tells us that we are not alone. From the beginning.

I
can distinguish a baby´s scent of others, says Professor Randolf Menzel, director of the Institute of Neurobiology, University of Berlin.

No other sense affects our brains like the smell. The corresponding brain region is phylogenetically the oldest part of the brain. People can distinguish from 10,000 to 50,000 different odors. Nothing is so much connected with memories as smells. We are animals: there is the stimulus (the scent), and this excitement leads to an image in the brain. Each scent creates a different pattern.

All this
is in our scent memory. And the scents created on an early stage
dominate and are very stable, says Randolf Menzel.

Tip of the month to sell your perfume in larger quantities

Advertise with your perfumes and your business.

Making an advert seems to be easy and in fact it is, but you need to keep two things in mind: It must attract the audience's attention through the content or message, but also through the position in the selected medium!

As already mentioned last month, it is much easier to make a meaningful campaign if your target audience is defined. Do not forget that a single advert is not enough; they must be performed with certain regularity.

This of course depends on the financial resources available to you, but you should remember that advertising is a necessity.

Serge Lutens is one of the most famous perfume designers of our time and has so far created 54 fragrances. He describes the perfume as additional strength of the own personality:

"Perfume is for me like literature. It is a language with which I want to describe a person. Who uses a perfume, selects it like a novel: With the aim to find in it a facet of himself – otherwise he would put it away quickly. The same goes for perfumes: If you cannot find yourself in it, it is not interesting. It simply smells, not more. “

Do you share his opinion? How do you select your fragrances? Why do you wear perfumes?

Tips on perfumes from Carolina Herrera

Reference:Perfumes Club

http://i2.esmas.com/2008/11/20/21711/carolina-herrera300x350.jpgThere are numerous tips about perfumes. But who better to give us advice on this topic as someone who brings in many years of experience in the world of selective perfumery, and with perfumes wearing her name. Someone like Carolina Herrera.

Carolina Herrera’s career in fashion began in 1981 and became a prestigious brand. It is her daughter Carolina Adriana Herrera who is dedicated to the perfume line, always supported by her mother. In 1988 they decided to trust the company Puig for the creation and promotion of their perfumes.

The first brand to hit the market was the perfume Carolina Herrera. Currently the company offers more than 10 different perfumes for men and women, some of them have become top sellers and even classics such as 212,212 Sexy and CH Men.

Because of such a successful career in the perfume business, we are sure that you will find it interesting to know about her secrets and tricks to smell, use and buy perfumes:

1.       When testing a fragrance, it is best to do so in the morning as the atmosphere is less saturated with odors. Avoid places where different aromas are mixed as this will prevent you from properly perceiving the smell of a perfume.
2.       It is not recommended to apply the perfume behind the ears as the fat in this area will transform the essence of the fragrance.
3.       Do not rub the perfume on your wrists in order to smell it. When rubbing, the structure of the fragrance will break and change the fragrance.
4.       In order to make a scent of a perfume more durable, it should be applied on the most sensitive areas of the body as wrists, neck, behind the knees and forearms.
5.       To perfume your hair, it is best to apply the fragrance on the hair brush that will be used after taking a bath.
6.       A good perfume should not be noticed when entering or leaving from somewhere.

What do you think about Carolina Herrera´s tips on perfumes? Do you apply any of them?
