The History of Perfume

The history of perfume is still very mysterious. When did it begin? And for what purposes perfumes were used?

In Barcelona, as in some French cities, there is a perfume museum. There it is believed that the history of perfume began in the Stone Age, when it was discovered that resin provided with branches in the fire spread a pleasant fragrance. Soon our ancestors used this as a ritual to honor the gods.

For centuries, monks and priests use perfumes for religious purposes. They produced it themselves
with myrrh, labdanum, etc to assist  the elevation of the spirit.

The Greeks used 7 different ways to store to perfumes. One form was the storage in the
"lekythos".

Due to the many trips of the Greek traders to other countries soon the act to get perfumed was imitated ba other cultures. Perfumers and barbers came into fashion. Gradually other cities and countries created their fragrance, it is also said that Alexander the Great loved perfume ...

But how does perfumes work? After the application of the fragrance it reacts with the warmth of the body. A part evaporates and the remaining aromas remain longer on the skin. There are two types of structures in a perfume: the first is divided into phases, for example the top notes, heart notes and base notes. In addition, the monolithic phase in which the scent remains the same while you can smell it.
