VismarEssence. What scents are most attractive to us?

I was always of the opinion that each country or region has its own scent or identifie themselves with specific fragrances. In 2010, the neurobiologist Rafi Haddad of the Weizmann Institute in Israel found out by a study, that this is not the case.

By using an electronic nose, he was able with up to 90% accuracy to predict those smells that are equally enjoyable for all. From this he drew the conclusion, that the affinity for certain odors is biologically and
not culturally specified.

Based on his experiments, which were also published in the Journal of Neuroscience, the most popular aromas for the mortals are lime, orange, grapefruit, mint and peach.

What you can not imagine is what Alan Kirsch, a researcher at the Foundation for Research and Treatment of Smell and Taste of Chicago (USA), has discovered. he found out that the best scent, to sexually excite men, is a mixture of lavender and pumpkin pie cake. This scent increases up to 40% (!!!) the blood flow to the genitals. And by the way: a similar effect to increase libido in women is achieved with the smell of powder.
